Ex-Sundowns Star Joins Bolivian Outfit

Former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder, Erwin Saavedra, has rejoined his former club, Club Bolivar.
In January 2022, Saavedra departed from Bolivar to sign with Sundowns. However, his stint there was marred by countless injuries, which limited his game-time. As such, he only made 13 goalless appearances across all competitions.
Last month, the 29-year-old Bolivian international parted ways with the reigning Premier Soccer League champions, with reports circulating that he would return to Club Bolivar.
On Sunday, 9 February, the Bolivian club confirmed in a Twitter/X post that Saavedra had rejoined their ranks.
“ERWIN SAAVEDRA IS BACK!” the post reads. “In the Centennial Year, a celestial warrior returns home. Erwin Saavedra returns to defend our colors [sic] with the same passion as he always did.”
Per reports, Saavedra joined Club Bolivar on a free transfer. Here’s hoping he will return to his best form and make a significant impact for the Sky Blues in the upcoming seasons!
